Next Meeting--Intro. to Poetry

In honor of National Poetry Month, Diane Brown will lead an introduction to Poetry.  We will discuss what is poetry and the tie to our human expression.  There will an exercise to write and attempt your own.  Bring ideas or your own poems to share.  The meeting will be at 6:30 pm at Glen Ellyn Evangelical Church at the corner of Hawthorne and Kenilworth in Glen Ellyn, IL.  All are welcome.

After this meeting, it was decided to meet on June 17th, at Diane's House, 414 South Lorraine Rd. in Wheaton for a Poetry Reading.  Drinks will be provided.  6:30 p.m.  All are welcome.  Come just to listen even if you do not have any of your own work.

 Why pray?  "First, God.  God is the subject of life.  God is foundational for living.  If we don't have a sense of the primacy of God, we will never get it right, get life right, get our lives right.  Not God at the margins; not God as an option; not God on the weekends.  God at center and circumference; God first and last. Creative Prayer Workshop #3 Paint Your Heart Out! Painting your emotions

  We had a wonderful workshop with Allison leading us in painting our emotions.  We started with putting a color on paper of what a description of anger, joy, peace and love would look like to each of us in color. The next paintings were guided layers of emotions, perhaps a lie we believed, and the truth that we know, all represented in colors and layers.  Some of the pictures from the evening are below.
