Pause in Time....A Pause for Beauty-March

Does it feel like time has stopped?  What an extraordinary experience when the whole world stops.  This is definitely living as history is being made.  But isn't history always being made, we just don't notice the ordinary?  Perhaps this opportunity to slow down and notice the ordinary is a definite change from the way we have been doing things.  Will we look back on this time as a positive?
Let's notice what it is like to not have the activities that we are used to doing.  Our routines have been interrupted.  Perhaps our sense of purpose has been taken away.

A pause in our normal routines are good.  It gives a chance to reflect, to reorder, to refresh, to rest.  I have noticed those around me are extremely tired.  If nothing else, perhaps a purpose of this time is to rest and reflect.  Something new is about to happen.  Life will not be the same as we go forward.  Life is always changing but perhaps we don't notice the subtle changes like we notice the big ones.

We can change direction.  This gift of time gives us time to do new things, to think new thoughts, to learn new skills.  Rare are the times when we don't have something else that needs doing.  Take advantage of this gift of time, and rest, reflect and consider your purpose in life.  We all need a role in life that is meaningful to us and the people who care about us.

Start by noticing beauty.  Start by doing something creative.  It sparks the imagination for new thoughts and perhaps for that change in direction that might be coming.  Creativity can open your mind to the new possibilities that are coming.  God is always doing a new thing.  Pause for beauty in creation which can speak a new lesson to you that you might not have noticed before.

"Not without design does God write the music of our lives.  Be it ours to learn the tune, and not be dismayed at the "rests."  They are not to be slurred over, not to be omitted, not to destroy the melody, not to change the keynote.  If we look up, God Himself will beat the time for us.  With the eye on Him, we shall strike the next note full and clear.  If we sadly say to ourselves, "There is no music in a 'rest,'" let us not forget "there is the making of music in it."  The making of music is often a slow and painful process in this life.  How patiently God works to teach us!  How long He waits for us to learn the lesson!--John Ruskin [English art critic, painter, social thinker of the Victorian era.]

I am not able to travel to see my grandson so instead I am painting him.  I am studying his face, his chubby cheeks, his toddler body, and his exploration and wonder of all things new.  I am thinking about his friendships as I paint his friend and himself in a British phone booth having fun.  It is one way I can get to know him better and feel close to him.

So, send me your creative attempts or photos of unexpected beauty that you find in this brand new world!!  I will post them here so others can be inspired and encouraged!
Send to 2013themakersspace@gmail.com

We would love to hear from all of you all over the world!!

Hopefully our next meet up for creativity will be April 27!!
