We are excited to announce an event happening this Christmas Season in Wheaton.  A committee of Wheaton residents along with the Jonahre foundation will be hosting a Christmas Art Walk with 12 stores hosting 12 pieces of commissioned fine art telling the Biblical story of Christmas. 
The 12 pieces of art are selected from submissions and commissioned for the town of Wheaton from 12 different artists completing work in different mediums and genres of art.   These will be displayed in 12 different businesses in Wheaton during regular business hours.  A map of the art walk will be provided to encourage the community to view each of the individual pieces which tells the complete Christmas Story.  This will run for the 12 days before Christmas.

The Jonahre Foundation’s mission, a non-for-profit organization, is to bring Truth to reality through the biblical storytelling through art. Having presented this art walk model in the community of Barrington in 2015, Wheaton has been selected to host this event in 2016.Please go to www.jonahre.com to learn more about our organization and to www.christmasartwalk.com to become familiar with the most recent 2015 Christmas Art Walk in Barrington,

Attached is the Call for Artists with the details, deadlines and statement of Faith.  We understand that not all students will want to participate, but we wanted to make it available to all who would.  As stated in the attached, the deadline for INTEREST is September 15, with the final art deadline October 31, 2016.  Please distribute this notice to your students or any other artists that you think might be interested in applying.

Creative Prayer Workshop #3 Paint Your Heart Out! Painting your emotions

  We had a wonderful workshop with Allison leading us in painting our emotions.  We started with putting a color on paper of what a description of anger, joy, peace and love would look like to each of us in color. The next paintings were guided layers of emotions, perhaps a lie we believed, and the truth that we know, all represented in colors and layers.  Some of the pictures from the evening are below.
